About the Mindswell Golf Therapy Program

  • Our 6-week golf therapy programs are designed for individuals who are ready to reconnect with themselves through mindful movement, connection, and evidence-based therapeutic support. Whether you’re a teen navigating overwhelm or emotional regulation challenges, a professional managing stress and burnout, or someone seeking a fresh approach to personal growth, Mindswell Golf Therapy offers a safe and inclusive space to feel grounded, empowered, and supported.

    Each program is thoughtfully curated to meet the unique needs of the group, creating meaningful opportunities for insight, skill-building, and emotional wellbeing.

  • Mindswell Golf Therapy is currently offered on the Gold Coast, with sessions held at beautiful local golf courses and driving ranges. These peaceful, green open spaces offer the perfect backdrop for self-reflection, gentle movement, and group connection.

    We work in partnership with golf professionals who provide coaching and equipment, so no golf experience is required; just a willingness to participate and be present.

  • Over six weeks, you’ll attend weekly 2-hour sessions that include:

    • Guided golf lessons and movement-based activities

    • Therapeutic group discussions and reflection circles

    • Psychoeducation and skills-based learning

    • Nervous system regulation and mindfulness practices

    • Somatic and nature-based therapeutic approaches grounded in ACT, CBT, narrative therapy, and more

    Each session is anchored in a weekly theme, such as:

    • Stress & Nervous System Regulation

    • Identity, Strengths & Self-Worth

    • Values-Based Decision Making

    • Empowered Relationships & Boundaries

    • Presence, Flow & Embodiment

    • Moving Forward with Confidence

    By the end of the program, you’ll walk away with more clarity, improved self-regulation, deeper self-awareness, and practical tools to support your mental and emotional wellbeing, both on and off the course.

  • Programs are offered in seasonal blocks throughout the year. Our current schedule works in line with school terms and includes dates between:

    • T1: January – March

    • T2: April – June

    • T3: July – September

    • T4: October – December

    All sessions are held weekly and run for 2 hours, with small group sizes to ensure depth, connection, and safety.

  • Programs are open to the public and available by application. We prioritise creating the right fit within each group to maintain a safe and supportive environment.

What Happens During a Mindswell Golf Therapy Session?

Each Golf Therapy session is designed to help you feel grounded, safe, and supported, no matter your experience with golf or where you’re at in your mental health journey.

We blend gentle movement, mindfulness, beginner-friendly golf skills, and therapeutic group work in a calming, open-air environment to support emotional regulation, insight, and wellbeing.

Arrival

You’ll be greeted at the golf course or driving range by your Mindswell facilitator and introduced to the group. We’ll help you settle in, go over the flow of the session, and ensure you feel comfortable and included. No need for prior golfing experience, just come as you are.

Group Circle

Each session begins with a grounding practice and facilitated check-in. We introduce the weekly theme and gently explore it together through storytelling, reflection, and optional sharing. These sessions are guided by evidence-based approaches including ACT, somatic practices, and narrative therapy.

Golf Practice

Next, we head into the golf component of the session. This might include time on the putting green, driving range, or practising short game skills, all supported by professional golf coaches. As you learn, move, and focus, our therapy facilitator will gently weave in somatic awareness and mindfulness prompts to encourage presence, emotional regulation, and embodied insight.

Close

We conclude each session with a short group debrief and grounding activity to help you reflect on your experience and take away a key insight or strategy for the week ahead. This closing circle offers a chance to reconnect with your intentions and gently transition back into daily life.
